Parish Life Team
The St. Joseph’s and St. Paul’s welcoming efforts are experiencing a structural change by transitioning our Evangelization Committee to our new Parish Life Team.
The Parish Life Team convened for the first time on Monday, 8/7/17, and 29 parishioners attended this meeting which included representatives from numerous ministries.
Discussion topics included:
¨ Simplify “evangelization” – it is welcoming, an invitation to share our faith, and spreading the joy of the Gospel
¨ Greeters, Ushers, and Hospitality make up the core of the Parish Life Team, but all parishioners play an active role and contribute
¨ Personal invitations play a key role in inviting people into church and into a ministry
¨ Increased cross promotion with other area Catholic churches
¨ Sharing our ministries with others is key to the growth of our church
¨ Importance of celebrating milestones – anniversaries of sacraments
¨ Embracing newer methods of communication – My Parish App, Social media, etc.
¨ Collaboration and brain storming is key
¨ Evangelization is everyone’s job
¨ Evangelize in your own style
¨ Importance of regular hospitality to provide socializing opportunity
¨ Faith formation and parent involvement is key to the family unit’s faith journey
¨ Importance of Adult Faith Formation
¨ The power of prayer; the importance of Adoration
